Enjoy.................................................

Lexi’s eyes narrowed. “Because she’s upset about how that turned out.” Lotus looked at the floor with a soft whimper. “What the hell happened?”

“I-I don’t know…” answered Lotus. “I didn’t know what to do…I…just panicked…”

“Then you need to tell her that. You don’t know how upset she is.”

Lotus whimpered again and glanced at her friend. “I know but…”

Lexi shook her head again and let out a sigh. “Just think about it, alright? I’m outta my element with the two of you…I just thought that you oughta know how she felt about it…” She turned and walked out of the store and stood beside Sonya, leaving Lotus to think about what was said. “So…you never answered my question…is it just this floor or is this store bigger?” she asked, looking around.

“It’s on all five floors…” she answered, turning her attention to Lexi. “You…wanna check…?”

She smiled at Sonya for a moment and sighed. “If you’re up for it.” she said, getting a confused look from her. “You gonna be alright?”

“I don’t know…”

“You wanna just head home? We can wait for them to get back if that’ll be easier…”

Sonya slowly shook her head. “No..it’s fine.” she answered, before giving Lexi a smile. “But…thanks.”

Lexi nudged Sonya with her elbow and started walking back to the store. “Well, let’s take a look.”

a few minutes passed by as they searched the store and Lexi found herself separated from Sonya and Lotus. She walked down one of the isles and looked over her shoulder, trying to figure out where her friends had disappeared to. She suddenly stopped and looked around at the shelves around her and let out a groan. “Okay, what the hell…” she mumbled, looking at the strange mix of tools that surrounded her. “I’m pretty sure Cassandra’s not gonna be here…” She scratched her head and cocked an ear. “Drake, maybe…but not Cassandra.” She stuffed her hands into her pockets and started walking again, keeping an eye on the shelves. “I wonder if I could pocket some of this stuff…” she thought, before making her way into one of the other departments. She wandered into one of the many clothing departments, keeping an eye out for any sign of the others. She wandered for several minutes through the isles and isles of clothes, running her hands across the furs and fabrics she passed until she reached one of the displays which had the sweater she’d been staring at.

She sighed and her ears drooped, slowly turning away from it, only to suddenly get hit in the eye by something causing her to fall backwards and hit the edge of the table with the sweaters. “By the Gods! Lexi?!” Lexi groaned, rubbing her left eye in pain, and looked up to see Cassandra standing in front of her. “A-Are you okay!?”

Lexi groaned again and stumbled to her feet, slightly dizzy from the impact. “Y-Yeah…I’m fine.” She uncovered her eye with a pained sigh. “…O-Ow…”

“Are you sure…?” Cassandra started examining Lexi’s eye, noticing it looking slightly enflamed. “By the Gods…I-I’m sorry…”

“It’s fine…I wasn’t paying attention…”

Cassandra sighed, hearing a hint of sadness in her voice. “Did you come here alone?”

Lexi shook her head and gently placed her fingers under her eye, feeling tissue starting to swell. “No…Sonya and Lotus are with me…but we…” She winced and let out a soft whimper. “…we kinda got separated at some point. They’re around here somewhere.”

“You sure you’re okay? You look like you’re in pain.”

“But you’re hurt.”

Lexi growled and lowered her hand. “I said I’m fine. You don’t need to worry about me.”

She then glanced back t the sweater again, catching Cassandra’s attention. “Did you come here to buy that?”

“No, I just wanted to talk to Luna…I was told she was here with you and Drake.”

“Yeah, she’s here somewhere. She wanted to look for something a few stores over.” she said, giving Lexi a soft smile. “You want me to take you to her?” Lexi looked at the floor and gave her a slight nod. She let out a sigh and motioned for her to follow. “C’mon.”

A couple minutes later, they found their way out of the store and started walking toward the other end of the mall, weaving their way through the crowds until they reached a smaller clothing store. They walked in and immediately made their way to the back where Luna was looking at a shelf full of scarfs. They stopped a few feet behind her and Cassandra looked over at Lexi standing beside her. “You sure about this?” she asked quietly.

Lexi nodded and took a deep breath. “Yeah…I-I need to…” she replied, before walking over to Luna and tapping her on the shoulder. “Luna…?” Luna turned around and looked at her, cocking an ear. She whimpered, seeing the bandage wrapped around her head that was nearly completely hidden by the hat she was wearing. “Can…um…can we talk…?”
